At Goodhope Labs, we offer a comprehensive range of semen analysis tests to evaluate male reproductive health. Our advanced diagnostic services include:
- Semen Analysis (SA)
A semen analysis, also referred to as a sperm count, is a laboratory test used to evaluate both the quality and quantity of a man’s semen and sperm. It is initial test conducted to assess male fertility. This test provides critical information about sperm concentration, motility, anti-sperm antibody Testing morphology, vitality and overall semen health, helping to identify any potential issues that may impact fertility. - Post-Ejaculatory Urinalysis (PEU)
Post-ejaculation urinalysis is a test performed from urine sample following ejaculation. The test detects the presence of sperm in urine. This test is typically used to identify retrograde ejaculation, where semen flows backward into the bladder instead of out of the body during orgasm. The presence of sperm in the urine can indicate this issue, which may affect male fertility. - DNA Integrity (DFI) Assessment
Semen DNA Integrity (DFI) assessment is a diagnostic test used to evaluate the quality and integrity of sperm DNA. This test is commonly used in fertility assessments, as the integrity of sperm DNA can significantly impact male fertility. The DNA fragmentation index (DFI) measures the percentage of sperm cells that have damaged DNA, with higher DFI values being associated with poor sperm quality and lower fertility potential. - Post-vasectomy test (PV) A post-vasectomy test is performed to confirm that a man has achieved sterility after undergoing a vasectomy, which is a surgical procedure intended to permanently prevent sperm from being present in semen.
These tests are performed by our experienced team of Royal College-certified pathologists and licensed laboratory professionals, ensuring accurate and reliable results to guide your fertility treatment decisions.
